Welcome to the new site!

We made a new website!

Here’s how the last month has been for us behind the scenes, and a bit about what we intend to do going forward.

So its been a very interesting and rapidly developing month for us all, and one that has flown by here behind the scenes at Guitar and Bass Plugins.

We had an unexpected shift with the Honest Amp Sim Reviews site suddenly going offline. And we felt that HASR had been a good resource for everyone interested in amp sims and guitar&bass related software. So we chose to continue in the tradition of HASR and we have steadily been making a new website ever since.

We’ve been filling it with a bunch of new content, and adding to the ever growing list of things to do. We are always working on a new post, or a new feature for you all to check out and hopefully enjoy – when time allows it. All of this is for the love and completed in our spare time – so we are doing our best, but all of us have other things happening with our lives aside from this.

What we do

Our ethos is to do what we can, when we can, for those who are interested in knowing more about software for guitar and bass. We aim to always be unbiased in our output of content – although there are some excellent plugins around at the moment so it can be tough to mark them too low, but we do always try and find a way to be transparent and honest in our efforts. Otherwise there’d be no point.

We do this for fun and for the love of playing guitar and bass and not to earn our daily bread, so you will never see any paid content on the site. For more info about who we are, what we intend to do and our position on doing reviews vs doing paid marketing – check our About page.

About the site

On the website, you shall no doubt see a few familiar features and sections from the old HASR website including the download section, where you will find all the presets Rick from Omegastation made, however you will also see new updates here in the future, and new sections on the website will appear as and when we feel they are ready to be published. We are already working on, or have plans for some interviews, some guest posts (with areas of specific expertise), and other features that we feel would be of benefit and use to all who visit the site.

Currently we have 4 sections for reviews on the site (that may look familiar to some of you): guitar, bass, pedals/fx and impulse responses. We aim to update these review sections on a regular basis – most likely once a month. Now – with the site just opened we don’t have that many reviews. But the numbers will grow and we hope over time the new site will be a good resource.
